In this one hour workshop you will increase joy, strengthen your immune system, and generate gratitude. We will drum together and engage in a joyous and enriching drumming experience. If you have a drum or a percussion instrument feel free to bring it. Musical instruments will be provided by the instructor. Beginners are welcome. No previous experience is necessary.

Drumming Up Mid Week Joy 

In this virtual class you will improvise variety of rhythms on the drum. You will learn several ways for utilizing the drum for grounding practices as well.   You will get to improve your mood, connect with your creativity, and bring joy into your life. 

No previous experience in drumming  is necessary. Don’t have a drum? No problem. We will go over some great ideas for items around the house that become instant percussions.

Drumming Up Joy During Covid

In this class we will drum together to help you increase your well being by boosting your immune system, body, mind, and spirit.  Learn to place your joyous intention into rhythm, be inspired by Rabbi Nachman of Breslov’s famous saying ("It is a great mitzvah to live in the state of happiness”), and explore guided imagery with drumming.

This class will be presented at Tapestry: A Community Celebration for Jewish Learning through the JCC.

Grooving Shalom and Inner Peace Into Your Life

Shalom (Hebrew: שָׁלוֹם shalom) is a Hebrew word meaning peace, harmony, wholeness, completeness, prosperity, and tranquility.

How can you invite more peace into your life during Covid?

In this workshop you will learn 3 ways to find inner peace.  

* Experience Shalom meditation to the beat of the drum 

* Make your own personal Shalom mantra/prayer that can be practiced anytime and anywhere. 

* Invite yourself into guided imagery for relaxation.

Recipes of Rhythms 

Do you feel drained in these uneasy times? In this class you will get nourished with a metaphorically three meal course.

Appetizer: You will create your own instrument from items gathered around the house, such as coffee cans, buckets, paper towel rolls, and so forth.

Main course: We will be grooving rhythms from all around the world (Middle East, Cuba, and Brazil) to nourish our souls.   

Dessert: After each class, a healthy and delicious easy Middle Eastern recipe will be emailed to you.
